Daylight Saving Time (DST) — and yes, it’s saving not savings — officially begins on the second Sunday in March and ends on the first Sunday in November when we turn our clocks back at 2:00 a.m. local time to read 1:00 a.m. Most of us learned the phrase, “spring forward, fall back” to remind us of which way to adjust the clocks. Changing watches and clocks is a small chore. Changing our own internal clocks is trickier.

Cauliflower, an old staple, has just had a new flowering and is the hip vegetable restaurants are featuring these days. Baked, fried, riced and diced, cauliflower is on many menus and is touted as the new healthy food to eat.

Quotations are among my favorite things to collect and share. The more truthful they are the more inspiring they seem. I’m also intrigued by who said what, and the connection between what we know about the author and the point of view the quote presents. For example, are philosophers, spiritual leaders, and Nobel prizewinners bothered by the same issues as comedians, prime ministers, and athletes? And are their interests the same as ours? Envy happens in my gut not in my head. It's a disturbing and tumultuous sensation that combines jealousy, inspiration, and regret simultaneously. I admire an attribute or skill that you have — maybe an aspect of willpower, passion, humility, confidence, or commitment. I find it appealing and I’m intrigued enough to want to try it myself. Envy motivates me to examine the tiniest details of what I admire — to deconstruct it so I can reconstruct it.
